This talk is more than just a presentation — it’s a tribute. On September 6th, the day Rob passed away in 2022, we gather to commemorate his life and celebrate his lasting contributions. Rob Hordijk’s innovative designs and deep philosophies on sound shaped the modular community and inspired makers and musicians around the world. His legacy lives on, not just in the instruments he created, but in the people he mentored.
Biyi will reflect on the knowledge and inspiration Rob passed on to him, how it influences his own practice today, and what lies ahead. He’ll also introduce his own work as a synthesizer designer, including a mini-masterclass on the Blippulator — an instrument affectionately known by many as the Blippoo Box MKII.
The session may also take the form of a live interview, with time for the audience to ask questions, share memories, or simply listen in on the legacy of one of the most influential minds in synthesis.
