Jeroen Visser is a Zurich-based musician, recording engineer, and electroacoustic artist, and owner of FBL Sound Studio. His practice spans piano, organ, and baritone saxophone alongside modular synthesis, multitrack recording, and field recording.

Since the early 2000s, Visser has built a strong reputation as a recording and mastering engineer for improvised, experimental, and jazz music — working with artists including David Moss, Luigi Archetti, Cedric Vuille, and Veryan Weston & Phil Minton, and reaching beyond Switzerland with credits like mastering the South African jazz album Transmutation by the Reza Khota Quartet. Whether performing or engineering, his work sits at the crossroads of acoustic and electronic sound, rooted in Zurich’s experimental music scene.

Schreibmaschine is the work of Berlin-based musician and game designer Lavendel Kranz, active across electronic, ambient, and drone music. Her sound is built almost entirely on modular synthesis — her 2019 record Das Anthropozän was composed and recorded on Eurorack, with track titles contributed by a circle of collaborators and friends.

That same fascination with modular systems led Kranz to start designing her own instruments under the Schreibmaschine name. Her line of hardware, Schreibmaschine Modular, is built around playing with pulses through forms of analog computational logic that are unusual in the modular world — turning boolean operations, odd-numbered sequencing, and pulse manipulation into compositional tools rather than just technical curiosities. Instantly recognizable by their lavender-and-gold panels, these modules have become as much a part of her musical identity as her recordings themselves, bridging the gap between performer and instrument-builder.

Roey Tsemah is an experimental musician exploring the unstable edges between acoustic sound, ambient drift, and raw noise. Using live looping, feedback systems, and self-built instruments, he constructs evolving sonic environments where texture and resonance take the lead. His performances unfold in real time—layers accumulate, collapse, and reassemble into dense fields of sound that blur the line between composition and emergence.

Alongside his musical practice, Tsemah designs experimental instruments and is the founder of Synthux Instruments, collaborating with artists and engineers to rethink how humans interact with sound. This spirit of exploration feeds directly into his performances, where technology becomes less a tool and more a living system in dialogue with the performer.

Berlin based uwe george is long in the biz as producer and live act, also part of narcotic syntax and owner of modular company “Rides in the storm“.
He also founded the german pop band “Reuterbox” alongside fadila.

Pakkadej
Chiang Mai-born, london/berlin-based Pakkadej has spun records and played live modular in the German capital for more than a decade. His musical productions and collaborations have been released on Astelagüel, Dalken and Klangscheiben. He is also working for the modular company “rides in the storm”.

Yapacc&Pakkadej perform regulary international modular gigs and host the monthly Modular Pub event in berlin NK beside their “rides in the storm” podcast. At rotterdams DMF both offer a dub/minimal set with some techno elements.

João Ricardo is a Porto-based sound artist, curator, and technician, and a central figure within Sonoscopia, Portugal’s platform for experimental, improvised, and electroacoustic music. His own work is electronic in nature, sitting at the crossroads of sound art and music: he builds compositions out of the manipulation of electronic objects and equipment, as heard on WEEE | Dust Memories, recorded together with Henrique Fernandes at Sonoscopia, and on Aeroles, where he played electronics and handled the recording and mixing himself.

Beyond his own productions, Ricardo is essential to Sonoscopia’s day-to-day workings as a technician — recording, mixing, and producing for many of the other artists who pass through the space on residencies. At the same time, he’s active as a curator, gathering musical work by artists from around the world and disseminating it through Editora do Porto and the radio program It’s All A Question Of Frequency.

Sonoscopia itself, based in Porto, has for years been a gathering point for experimental, improvised, and electroacoustic music — a physical space with studios that has hosted hundreds of local and international artists, building an ongoing network of collaboration and community. João Ricardo’s work as a maker, technician, and curator is one of the driving forces behind it.

Peter Edwards is an American artist, musician, and teacher, active since 2000 under the name Casperelectronics — both his performing alias and the name of his circuit-bending and musical electronics practice. He works with electronics to design exciting sounds, objects, and experiences, and his work sits at the intersection of sculpture and sound.

Edwards earned a BFA in sculpture and performance from the Rhode Island School of Design, studied electro-acoustics at The Institute of Sonology, and studied instrument design at STEIM. Alongside this formal training, he taught himself electronics, with the aim of helping other creative thinkers take control of the medium.

He builds unique, handmade instruments out of unexpected objects — a Jack-in-the-Box, a Barbie Karaoke machine, megaphones — and his circuit-bent Casio SK-1s and Speak & Spells have become touchstones within the circuit-bending community. He performs live as Casperelectronics and has built custom instruments for musicians including Mike Patton, Danny Elfman, and Mark Hosler of Negativland.

Edwards collaborates with Bastl Instruments to make synths, and helps design audio plugins for software pioneers Soundtoys, where he also serves as resident electronics whisperer for their sprawling collection of classic synths and studio sound gear.

Alongside his work as a builder and performer, Edwards is a respected educator: he founded the creative electronics department at Hampshire College, teaches at Harvestworks in New York, and has given talks and workshops worldwide, from MIT’s Media Lab to the Piksel Festival in Bergen. He currently lives and works in Troy, New York.
